"CLASS FLAVORS"
Parenting Pearls or Perils
Recently I was surfing the obits at the Bismarck Tribunes website. My daughter Rachel (6) was sitting beside me listening very intently to the music that was attached to the obit page. Finally she looked at me and said, "Mom, is the computer dying?" At the point I tuned in and noticed they were playing funeral music on the obit page! I had a great laugh! Wouldnt it be nice, if our computers did play funeral music right before they crashed?? It would be a very nice warning! Now instead of funeral music, they have a very annoying beep. Rachel leaves the room every time she hears it. She is convinced that the computer is going to blow-up! It kinda freaked me out the first time I heard it also, and I still havent figured out which ad it is attached to.
Side note: Today we were discussing t-ball and which position Rachel
likes to play best. She told me she likes to play first and catcher, but likes catcher the
best. I asked why, and her response was "well, if I miss the ball at home plate then
the "emperor" will catch it." I think we need to work on the finer points
of the game, like who is playing and what they are called! Lauri

"TOTALLY UNCENSORED!"
Hey Hey how's it going its August the clock is ticking on those poor children for they know its three weeks until school starts. Time to get that last getaway in for the summer. Then try too change your chills time clock in their head that says you have to go to bed early so your rested up for school, thats always a tough week in our house. My girls are used to staying up until 12am with dad sitting by the fire at the lake cabin listening to the coyotes howling at the moon, and just plain old goofing off. Its also a great time for parents with first time schoolers. Remember when you had to let go of your child at the first day of school as they watched you walk away to leave them with this teacher. Priceless moments.
Its that time of year again that you need to submit your pick on whose going to win the super bowl. Yes, football is back, the time of year the man leaves his castle (that is his garage) and comes indoors to join his family with all day Sunday football games, and just when you feel depressed that you have to wait seven days until the next game, the gods have invented Monday night football.
Im going out on a limb this year and Im going to pick the OAKLAND RAIDERS THATS RAIDER NATION TO ALL THOSE NON BELIEVERS! Submit your picks to Lauri.
August 1st-we will get to drive 75 M.P.H. down the interstate system here in North Dakota Yippee.
I dont have a clue what's happening in Bismarck lately cause I havent been in Bismarck for the month of July to notice. So Im going to say have a great last of summer and see you in September.

Ray Wangler and his family are headed to CO this summer, time for a little family vacation!
Dan Raszler has accepted a higher management position with the grocery store chain that he works for. There are more responsibilities but the best part as always, is that there is also more money!
Eric Ormseth has made a big career move! After 11 years he has left military life behind him and has joined the civilian world! He and his family have also left the West Coast and are now calling Memphis, Tennessee their new home.
PRAIRE ROSE GAME RESULTS
Barb (Matejcek) and Dale Schmitckes son Kevin took the silver in the hoop shoot for the 10th grade division and his basketball team took the gold for the 10th grade division. Kevin has taken the gold for 3 years in a row for the hoop shoot and now the silver. They are definitely very proud of him!
Sherri (Nordstrom) Driscolls little sister, Marlina Walth, took 6th in the 50 mile bike race which took them to New Salem and back.
Welcome to the world little one
Jennifer (Haines) and Gordy Skaar welcomed their fifth child and first daughter into the world on July 18. Merrith Fae weighed 9 lbs.1 oz. and was 20 inches long. Everyone is doing well and they are adjusting to PINK as the new color in their house!
Megan (Gerboth) and Dean Affa welcomed their second daughter,
Abigail Katherine into the world on July 30th. Abigail weighed 8 lbs. ½ ounce, and was 20
inches long. All is well with the new baby and the rest of the very excited family!
Our congratulations to all of you!!!
Remember when Mary S. and Corrine M. this is for you!
For my 40th birthday my husband got us great tickets to see "BOSTON" in concert! Now mind you, in 1979 at their "Dont Look Back" tour, I would have done something awful for these seats, but that night, though they were great seats, they were too close, it was too crowded, everyone was standing, and it was WAY too loud for me! So, after a move to the way upper level of the open air Marcus Amphitheater, I was finally able to sit back and really enjoy the concert. I tell you, it was nice to hear some of the new stuff, but the old stuff now that was awesome!! While I was sitting there listening to them jam, it took me back to a great time in my life! All I had to do was close my eyes and it was 1980 all over again. It was Main street (on the west end), Marys Gold Pontiac, windows wide open, the eight track screaming "Long Time", and three girls without a care in the world jamming on their "air drums"!! Man, life is good now, no complaints, but you know, it wasnt to damn bad back then either! Thanks for the memories Mary and Corrine, though they may be somewhat foggy, they are still a big part of my growing up! I hope you all have a great day and dont forget your "air drums", you never know when you might need to entertain your kids! Lauri
